Dan Storck has been a leader in the Mount Vernon community for over 25 years. After his career as a successful businessman brought him to the district with his wife of more than 40 years, Deb, and their three children, Dan quickly fell in love with the community.
An avid outdoorsman and lover of history, Dan made Mount Vernon his home. When he saw a neighborhood swimming pool struggling to keep its doors open, he stepped forward to help. That experience marked the beginning of more than two decades of community involvement and public service.
Dan went on to serve three successful terms on the Fairfax County School Board, while volunteering as a coach, parent-teacher association president, and Abraham Lincoln presenter.
The best way to predict the future is to create it.

Helped deliver south county schools under budget and ahead of schedule, creating savings that supported additional school renovations.

Supported capital funding to modernize school buildings, eliminate trailers, and improve educational facilities.

Advocated for additional teachers, resources, smaller class sizes, and stronger support for priority schools.
Expanding Opportunities
Supported full-day kindergarten, advanced coursework, STEAM initiatives, and high school internship programs.
Career-Ready Graduates
Helped advance school board policies that increased student industry skill certifications from 700 to more than 17,000.
Responsible Taxpayer Spending
Helped launch Smart Services, Smart Savings, a collaborative initiative that saved taxpayers more than $1 million.
